Participants were introduced to why I choose to work with comics as tools for creative and critical conversations about race, identity, and social justice. I shared the inspiration for this inquiry – the $5 comic book YOUR BLACK FRIEND by Ben Passmore.
Picturing Identity 
Watching the film during your presentation at VRSC was so powerful and impactful to me. When I was around 10 years old I used to read comics, but the comics I used to read in Brazil are soooo different, and it made me think about the power of using it also as a path to discuss/understand/inquiry about culture.
